Recently, there is news that "RoHS directive exemption has officially ended and will not be extended". In August 2022, the EU officially issued the EU RoHS 2.0 directive exemption list, the EU RoHS Directive (on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) clearly specifies a series of chemical substances prohibited for electrical and electronic equipment. Because discharge bulbs do not work without mercury, they are included in the list of exemptions in the current version of the RoHS directive.
